Fanfiction Spotlight: ‘Champion’ by I M Sterling – A Captivating Tale

Hey there, my fellow book revelers! This time, I am back with a Tomione fanfiction review for you. This is one of my favorite fanfics, and I have read it at least five times over the years. Well, let’s dive right into the review. Champion by I M Sterling Blurb The war is much larger, far longer, and much deeper than they could have imagined: fought on a scale that baffles the limits of human understanding. In such a world, perhaps it isn’t surprising when Hermione Granger is sent back in time to rescue Tom Riddle’s soul before he has the chance to destroy it. Chapters: 92 Status: Complete  Trigger warning: This fanfiction is Rated M. This fanfiction has dark elements/themes in it. Please check trigger warnings, or if you are not into this ship, avoid reading this.  My Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ As an avid reader of fanfiction, it’s always a delight to come across a story that captivates and enthralls you from the very beginning. “Champion” by I M Sterling —a true gem in the fanfic universe! If you haven’t dived into it yet, you’re in for a treat. “Champion” presents a refreshing concept, seamlessly blending beloved characters and intricate plotlines into a new timeline that feels both nostalgic and excitingly fresh. The character portrayals are spot-on, adding layers and nuances to familiar faces while introducing new dynamics that keep the story lively and full of surprises. However, here’s the thing: while the plot and characterizations are absolutely gripping, the time travel (it’s not exactly time travel) element can get a bit tangled with the age progression of characters and some inconsistencies with the timeline. But don’t let that minor bump deter you—“Champion” is a page-turner. The storytelling is strong enough to keep readers hooked, and the attention to character development is truly commendable. Plus, the romance is a delightful bonus, beautifully unfolding from friendship to love with grace and charm. If you’re into richly woven narratives with deeply developed characters, “Champion” by I M Sterling is a must-read. It’s a shining example of the author’s talent and passion. No Redemption Without Sin: A Candid Review of Sinners Anonymous!

Hi there, fellow book revelers!😉 I am back with an all-new book review! 😊✨ I will dive into the world of “Sinners Anonymous” by the incredible Somme Sketcher – the first installment of the Sinners Anonymous Series! 💫✨ In true book enthusiast fashion, I’m here to spill all the tea and give you the lowdown on what to expect from this book. 🍵💬 But first, let’s talk honesty – my trusty guide on this literary journey. 🗣️💯 Prepare yourselves for an honest review. No sugar-coating here, just the real deal! 🚫🍭 I TRY TO WRITE MY REVIEWS WITHOUT GIVING OUT ANY SPOILER. So, without further ado, it’s time to spill the tea! ☕️ Caution: Before reading “Sinners Anonymous by Somme Sketcher,” check out the trigger warnings, as this book follows themes unsuitable for everyone. Sinners Anonymous by Somme Sketcher Blurb My fiancé’s nephew knows every sin I’ve ever committed. He’s about to become the deepest and darkest of them all. My name is Rory Carter and I do bad things. There’s a charred soul under this angelic exterior and sometimes, I wonder if my weekly confessions to the Sinners Anonymous hotline will be enough to heal it. Marrying the seventy-something head of the Cosa Nostra to save my father is the only good deed I’ve ever done. I’m burning and bitter under the fake smile and tight dresses, but I was keeping it together. Was. Until my fiancé’s nephew turns up to dinner uninvited. Angelo ‘Vicious’ Visconti. A beautiful monster with cheekbones as sharp as his tongue. They say I shouldn’t be scared of him, because nine years ago, he went straight. He’s barely a Made Man anymore. But I say, he’s the most dangerous Visconti of all. It’s not just because his cold sneer makes my pulse flutter. Or the way his syrupy drawl trickles down my spine. No. He holds all of my sins in his big, rough hands. And the only sins darker than mine are his own. My Rating: Overall: 3 ⭐⭐⭐ Plot: 3 ⭐⭐⭐ Hero: 3 ⭐⭐⭐ Heroine: 3 ⭐⭐⭐ Romance: 3.5 ⭐⭐⭐ Sinners Anonymous is Book 1 of the Sinners Anonymous Series by Somme Sketcher. First and foremost, Somme Sketcher’s writing style is compelling, and it is effortlessly capable of drawing readers into the enthralling world of the book. Let’s meet the main characters, Rory and Angelo, in the tumultuous waters of a forbidden love affair. Rory is engaged to Angelo’s much older uncle (a whopping 70 years old!), giving us all the forbidden love vibes. 😱💘 I have seen many people online say this book draws comparisons to Sweetest Oblivion, but hold up! It’s not a copycat situation. I do not see the similarities as much that it can be said that it is a copy of it. I found the plot a tad predictable; the trope has been done many times, so many scenes or situations might feel similar to other books of the same genre. The plot was not so mysterious for me, with Rory being engaged for personal reasons (shocker!), who meets Angelo, a mafia man with a mysterious return to the underworld. Their first Cliffside meeting and the slow-burn connection were nice enough! 🔥🌄 I expected a badass heroine with heavy depth because of how the book starts, but she was pretty childish. As for Angelo, I think he was a bit indecisive. There was nothing too exciting about him as he was a stereotyped alpha hero. While this book was not something I would read again, I must say I did enjoy reading it; it’s just that it didn’t vibe with me in the long run. BTW, I REALLY ENJOYED READING THIS SERIES ‘ SECOND AND THIRD BOOKS. I can vouch that they’re a significant improvement over the first installment. All being said, the first book is a decent choice for those seeking dark romance without diving too deep into the abyss. 🖤 So, if you’re looking for a dark romance that’s not too heavy, Sinners Anonymous might be the perfect addition to your reading list! 🎢📚 About the author: Somme Sketcher is an internationally bestselling author of dark and mafia romance. She is best known for her Sinners Anonymous series and for writing the slowest of the slow burns (for which she is not sorry at all). When she’s not writing, you’ll find her trying to find a new hobby, like pottery (rubbish at it), ice skating (rubbish at that too), or listening to true crime podcasts. She also loves dogs and doesn’t trust those who don’t. Click here if you would like to read other book reviews. See you guys next time!

Love, Intrigue, Desire & Passion: My review of ‘The Sweetest Oblivion’!

Hey there, my fellow book revelers!😉 Today, I’m spilling the tea on a literary sensation that’s been causing quite the buzz online. And trust me, you won’t want to miss out on this one! 😍 Once in a while, you stumble upon a book that feels like a juicy secret you just can’t keep to yourself. Well, my friends, let me introduce you to “The Sweetest Oblivion” – a total game-changer that swept me off my feet with its addicting plot, seductive vibes, and enough sexual tension to make your heart race! 💖. Caution: This book has dark romance themes; if you do not like reading such genres, I would suggest not reading it. The Sweetest Oblivion by Danielle Lori Blurb She’s a romantic at heart, living in the most unromantic of worlds… Nicknamed Sweet Abelli for her docile nature, Elena smiles on cue and has a charming response for everything. She’s the favored daughter, the perfect mafia principessa… or was. Now, all she can see in the mirror’s reflection is blood staining her hands like crimson paint. They say first impressions are everything . . .In the murky waters of New York’s underworld, Elena’s sister is arranged to marry Nicolas Russo. A Made Man, a boss, a cheat—even measured against mafia standards. His reputation stretches far and wide and is darker than his black suits and ties. After his and Elena’s first encounter ends with an accidental glare on her part, she realizes he’s just as rude as he is handsome. She doesn’t like the man or anything he stands for, though that doesn’t stop her heart from pattering like rain against glass when he’s near, nor the shiver that ghosts down her spine at the sound of his voice. And he’s always near. Telling her what to do. Making her feel hotter than any future brother-in-law should. Elena may be the Sweet Abelli on the outside, but she’s beginning to learn she has a taste for the darkness, for rough hands, cigarettes, and whiskey-colored eyes. Having already escaped one scandal, however, she can hardly afford to be swept up in another. Besides, even if he were hers, everyone knows you don’t fall in love with a Made Man… right? My Rating Overall: 4⭐⭐⭐⭐ Plot: 4 ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Hero: 4 ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Heroine: 4 ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Romance: 4 ⭐⭐⭐⭐ The Sweetest Oblivion, written by the fabulous Danielle Lori, this baby kicks off the Made Series in style. Meet our main gal, Elena Abelli, your modern-day princess smack dab in the heart of the mafia world. Elena’s story gets spicy when a past indiscretion leads her little sis engaged to none other than Nicholas Russo, aka Nico – the bad boy of the mafia scene. Talk about a wild ride, am I right?😁 Elena’s journey from a people-pleaser to a fearless pursuit of her desires had me cheering her on. At the same time, Nico’s dangerous yet irresistible vibe kept me hooked. I couldn’t put the book down. Their chemistry? Off the charts.🚀 Seriously, sparks fly every time they’re in the same room and the sexual tension? Whew, it’s enough to make you blush just reading about it.🥰😊 But it’s not all rainbows and butterflies. These two have their fair share of challenges to overcome, with the dark side of the mafia lurking around every corner. But don’t worry, it’s not all doom and gloom! Alongside Elena and Nico, you’ve got a whole cast of characters adding color and depth to their world, making every twist and turn more thrilling.✨🎇🌟 And as Elena and Nico’s love story unfolds, it becomes more than just physical attraction – it’s about finding yourself and rebelling against the hand you’ve been dealt. This book is a testament to the magic of storytelling, whisking us away on a literary adventure that’ll stay with you long after you’ve turned the last page. If you’re a sucker for mafia romance like me, consider this your next must-read. Trust me, it left a mark on my soul and might do the same for you! 🌟✨😊🥰😉 About the Author: Danielle Lori’s novels incorporate morally questionable heroes, electric hate to love relationships, and sometimes sweet but mostly sassy heroines. She has written in both the fantasy subgenre as well as contemporary, but will never stray from romance. A normal day for her includes coffee, bodice rippers, and 1990s chick flicks. She lives in small-town Iowa with her husband, son, and too many dogs. This post contains affiliate links. Click here if you would like to read other book reviews. See you guys next time!

Romancing the Dark: Luna Mason’s ‘Distance’ and It’s Honest Review!

Welcome, fellow book revelers!😉😉 I am back with an all-new book review! 😊✨ This time, we are taking on a journey through the intricate world of “Distance,” the first installment of the Beneath The Mask Series and the Debut novel of Luna Mason. In this dark mafia romance, where the worlds of organized crime and sports (NOT REALLY) collide, we traverse a landscape rich in spice and suspense. As we delve into the review, remember that honesty will be my guide, and I aim to paint a comprehensive picture of the narrative. Caution: Before reading ‘Distance’ by Luna Mason, check out the trigger warnings, as this book follows themes that are unsuitable for everyone. Distance by Luna Mason Blurb Keller From a poor, underground street fighter, I rose to fame as the world heavyweight boxing champion. No one knew I was also a monster who hunted in the shadows. Trapped in the mafia until my debts were paid. A simple deal held my freedom- unify my belts. It seemed simple until an enchanting British firecracker landed on my lap, knocking me sideways. Wanting her was dangerous for us both, but I took her anyway. Leaving me with the choice, fight for my freedom or hers. When the truth is unmasked, could she still love me? Would love be enough to battle our demons and come out on top? Sienna Newly single and focusing on building my life in New York, I’ve sworn off men for the foreseeable. No one had ever stuck around long enough to let me believe in fairytales anyway. That was until him. He tried to hide himself from me but I couldn’t stay away. When the mask shattered and the truth was revealed, could I still stay? Even if it meant my life was at stake. Could we get past our fear of love and fight for our Happily Ever After? My Rating: Overall: 3.5 ⭐⭐⭐ Plot: 3 ⭐⭐⭐ Writing style: 3 ⭐⭐⭐ Hero: 4 ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Heroine: 4 ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Romance: 3.5 ⭐⭐⭐ Spice: 3.5 ⭐⭐⭐ My Review: Picture this: the boxing ring’s raw, physical intensity colliding with organized crime’s murky complexities. Now, meet Keller, our inked-up enforcer, a character brimming with potential. His brooding exterior, peppered with unexpected moments of sweetness, crafts a complex persona that piques the reader’s interest. But, like any well-drawn character, Keller isn’t flawless. On the flip side of this tumultuous romance, we encounter Sienna, a character with a solid foundation of admirable qualities. Weathering storms of infidelity and stalking, Sienna embodies resilience. Yet, the narrative leaves us craving a deeper exploration of her strength. Post-betrayal, Sienna’s character could have been elevated with more empowering moments. The spark in her character is there, but the narrative falls short in allowing Sienna to flex the strength she inherently possesses truly. The narrative hurtles us into a whirlwind of passion between Sienna and Keller at breakneck speed. The instant connection sparks a fiery intensity, but it raises doubts about the depth of their bond. As readers, we’re left questioning whether a more gradual development could have allowed us to savor the evolution of their relationship. While the infusion of mafia elements into the boxing world should have injected an undeniable thrill into “Distance,” it, unfortunately, felt unbalanced and lacking. Despite the narrative’s promise, it was distracting, and grammatical errors and cringe-worthy dialogue hampered its potential. Final Thoughts: This plot had a ton of potential, you know? Mixing sports and the mafia—sounds like a killer combo. But man, it fell short in so many ways. I hate to say it, but it could’ve been way better. And seriously, did it have to be that long? The book could’ve used some serious trimming. It’s an okay start for a series, and there’s potential buried somewhere. Give it a shot if you’re into those dark, spicy, insta-love kinds of books. I’m curious to see what the author cooks up next, though. I can’t say I’m on the edge of my seat, but maybe the second book will redeem the whole thing. I’m looking forward to seeing what they do with those side characters—they were more interesting than the main story, to be honest. Click here if you would like to read other book reviews. See you guys next time! About the author: Luna Mason is an Amazon top #20 bestselling dark romance author. If she isn’t writing, you’ll find her with her head in a spicy book.

Love, Life, and A Million Kisses: A Book Review

Greetings, fellow book revelers! 📚✨  I am back with a thrilling book review to ignite your literary senses! 😊✨ I want you to prepare to embark on an exhilarating journey as we immerse ourselves in the encaptivating romance world. So make sure you’re comfortably situated as I take you on a ride of what my review of the book “A Million Kisses in Your Lifetime” by Monica Murphy entails.🎉🎉 Caution: Before reading “A Million Kisses in Your Lifetime by Monica Murphy,” check out the trigger warnings, as this book follows themes unsuitable for everyone. A Million Kisses in Your Lifetime by Monica Murphy Blurb Wren Beaumont is many things. Beautiful. Smart. Sweet. Innocent. At Lancaster Prep, the girls love her. They all want to be her friend. Only I see Wren for who she really is. A repressed little virgin who keeps her feelings locked up so tight she’s probably close to bursting. She thinks she’s above us all. Even me. I shouldn’t be drawn to her. She’s not my type. Until we’re forced to work together in class and realize we might have more things in common than we originally thought. Soon enough I find myself completely obsessed. I will do anything for this girl to make her fall in love with me. My Rating Overall: 3 ⭐⭐⭐ Plot: 2.5 ⭐⭐ Writing style: 3 ⭐⭐⭐ Hero: 2 ⭐⭐ Heroine: 3 ⭐⭐⭐ Romance: 3 ⭐⭐⭐ Spice: 3 ⭐⭐⭐ My Review Now, I must be frank with you – the hype surrounding this book on Instagram and TikTok led me down a path of anticipation. However, the reality proved far from satisfying. This review is an unfiltered discussion of the disappointing aspects of weak plotlines, lackluster characters, and the uncomfortable undertones that left me questioning the acclaim. In the literary realm, a robust plot and compelling characters are the backbone of any engaging narrative. Unfortunately, in “A Million Kisses in Your Lifetime,” this crucial foundation seems to crumble beneath its shortcomings. This school bully and new adult romance claims to offer a riveting experience through the contrasting worlds of the Beaumont and Lancaster families. The plot, touted as a romance transcending societal expectations, left me wading through shallow waters. The narrative felt lackluster, resembling a wattpadish tale with a fragile premise that struggled to carry the story’s weight. The book places an unsettling emphasis on the heroine’s virginity, with the hero’s obsession bordering on discomfort. The narrative takes an unwarranted turn as it fixates on the idea of ‘corrupting’ the female protagonist, perpetuating outdated and problematic stereotypes. As the layers of the story unfold, so do the blatant instances of sexism and misogyny. While characters evolving throughout a narrative can be a redeeming quality, “A Million Kisses in Your Lifetime” teeters on a delicate balance. Initially presented as the ‘good girl’ with unwavering morals, Wren Beaumont’s character wasn’t necessarily good, as she seemed judgmental and naïve. However, she improves as the story progresses, as her relationship with Crew deepens. Conversely, Crew Lancaster was introduced as the charismatic ‘bad boy’ with a magnetic allure. The promise of vulnerability and depth left me questioning the execution. Did Crew shed his exterior, revealing the layers of vulnerability as intended, or did the narrative fall short of this ambitious goal? I don’t think so.Monica Murphy’s writing style is undeniably skillful, weaving words with finesse. Despite the shortcomings in the narrative, her ability to craft sentences and scenes cannot be overlooked. While the prose may testify to Murphy’s talent, the unfortunate mingling with a weak plot and characters diminishes its impact. Final Thoughts: Through the pages of “A Million Kisses in Your Lifetime,” I’ve encountered a narrative that fell short of its promises. This journey has been unmasking disappointments, from the pitfalls of an overhyped launch to the unraveling of weak plotlines and lackluster characters. Monica Murphy‘s writing prowess may shine through the chaos, but it cannot fully salvage a tale plagued by unsettling themes and character missteps. As readers, we tread the delicate line between appreciating a skillful quill and grappling with the frustrations of a narrative that fails to live up to its potential.“A Million Kisses in Your Lifetime” finds itself on shaky ground. While some may appreciate the writing finesse, the overarching flaws in plot and characterization make it a challenging recommendation for those seeking a fulfilling reading experience. A Blogger’s View: My Obsession with Rina Kent’s Deviant King!

Hey, fellow book revelers! 📚Let me dish on something real with you—I’ve been diving into bully romances for a hot minute now, and let’s be real, not many have managed to steal my heart. Most of them just end up feeling like a bad rerun, with the hero acting like a jerk and the heroine pretending to be tough when she’s a doormat. Ugh, so not my vibe. But then, oh boy, along came “Deviant King” by Rina Kent, and I was like, “Hold up, this is the dark hero goodness I’ve been waiting for!” Yep, sign me up!😁 Caution: Deviant King is a dark romance book by Rina Kent that contains dubious moments and follows a dark theme with trigger warnings, which could upset some readers. If you do not like dark romance themes, I suggest not reading this book. Deviant King by Rina Kent Buy here Buy here (UK) Blurb The villain isn’t supposed to be king. I have a simple plan. Finish Royal Elite School and get into my dream university. One glance from the school’s king blows my plan up in smoke. One glance and he suffocates my air. One glance and he issues his death sentence. His first words spiral my life into irreparable chaos. “I will destroy you.” Everything about Aiden King is black. Black mind. Black heart. Black soul. I should’ve remained quiet and endured the time I have left. I didn’t. I made the irrevocable mistake of provoking the king on his throne. The devil in his hell. And now, I’ll pay the price. Being hated by Aiden King is dangerous. But being wanted by him is lethal. My Rating: Overall: 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Plot: 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Hero: 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Heroine: 4.5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Romance: 4.5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐ First, let’s take a moment to appreciate the sheer brilliance of Rina Kent’s storytelling. Deviant King throws you headfirst into the Royal Elite School (RES), where power plays and hidden secrets rule the roost. Elsa Quinn, our fearless heroine labelled “Frozen” for her icy cool demeanor, gets caught up in a wild ride when Aiden King, the brooding bad boy, decides he’s gonna “destroy” her. Talk about drama! This book is like the ultimate trifecta of tension, angst, and darkness, and I am so here for it.😀 Let’s talk about the MMC and FMC. Aiden King? Oh boy, where do I even start? He’s the bad boy you love to hate, with a past as murky as the deep end of the ocean. But trust me, you’ll find yourself drawn to him like a moth to a flame. And can we talk about Elsa Quinn? She’s not just another damsel in distress. The girl’s got layers! Her journey through conflicts, a forgotten past, and a pesky heart condition add depth to her character, making her a badass leading lady. Aiden King and Elsa Quinn as a couple? They are indeed a power couple!🌟✨🎇 Rina’s writing? Chef’s kiss. It’s like a literary seduction. Rina sprinkles magic dust on every page, drawing you deeper into the story with every word. And don’t even get me started on the world-building—it’s like you’re right there in the halls of Royal Elite School, soaking up every juicy detail.  Rina deserves all the snaps for this masterpiece. The storytelling, the characters, and that cliffhanger ending – it’s the dark romance dreams are made of! 🌌 For me, “Deviant King” isn’t just a book—it’s an experience.
